Joe joined Dillo in 2001 and made an immediate impact on all of us. Always willing to donate his time, advice, expertise or equipment, Joe became one of the go to guys when you needed help on a project. 'Joe Scada' as he was known in his work for Prime Controls, always had a smile and sound advice.
Joe graduated first in his class at Texas State Technical College. His brother Steve says he was always "tinkering" with wires and electronics when he was a kid. His interest in Ham radio was passed down to him by his Dad Bill ( W5WJW).
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Jan, his son Brian and stepsons Damon and Denton, his older brother Steve, and his parents Bill and Betty.
He was a friend to everyone he ever met. He worked for a company which stood by him during his struggle with cancer, something most companies would be hard pressed to do. Joe will be missed by everyone in the Amateur radio community and especially all of us who called him our friend. Jan asks that in tribute to Joe donations should be made in Joe's name to the American Cancer Society.
